Medicare is a federal health insurance program for people 65 years of age or older. Medicare Supplements are a health insurance policy sold by private heath insurance companies to fill the "gaps" in Medicare coverage. There are ten standarized plans, Plan A through Plan J.  Standarized plans were mandated by the federal government which means for example, Plan A will have the same benefits if bought from company XYZ or company ABC.  The premium will not be standarized so you will want to shop for the best benefits with a stable and reputable company.
